Humanity in Action Campaign Vision

Far too many Central Oregon families cannot afford a home. Our Humanity in Action campaign will help many more families in our region access the dream and the opportunities that go along with homeownership.

Together we achieved our goal for December 2020 – November 2023

  • $4 million in Humanity in Action contributions

  • Completing 40 new affordable homes by 2024

Our goal for 2024:

  • 20 new homes

  • $75,000 in Humanity in Action giving per home

Every home will be solar powered, energy efficient and permanently affordable!

New pledges to Humanity in Action will help build the next 20 homes planned for 2024.

Need for Humanity in Action

Many working families in Bend and Redmond cannot afford a home – either to rent or to buy! First responders, health care providers, teachers, small business owners and other working families deserve a path to homeownership.

  • The median home price in Bend is $730,000. In Redmond it’s $500,000 (as of December 2023).
  • Approximately 50% of Deschutes County residents pay more than 35% of their income for rent; 32% are paying more than half of their income for rental housing (U.S. Census data).
