Help Jacob and other hardworking local families open the door to a brighter future.
For seven months, Jacob and his three boys were without a place to call home. Eventually, they were able to secure a small, two-bedroom rent-controlled apartment. Later, a three-bedroom unit became available, and that apartment has been their anchor for many years.
“That apartment is the most stable I’ve been in a long time,” Jacob says. “I’ve worked really hard for that, and I’m grateful. But it’s time for something new.”
Jacob has consistently put in the work to move his family forward. He has maintained steady full-time employment, completed Habitat’s homeowner readiness classes, and worked closely with his financial coach, Jeremy, to strengthen his finances and prepare for a mortgage.
He is committed, prepared, and ready to take this next step.
For Jacob, homeownership means more than a new address. It means long-term stability for his boys and the confidence that his housing won’t be at risk as his income grows. It also means leaving behind an apartment that can now help another family begin their own journey toward stability.
This is how progress happens. A family moves from homelessness, to a stable apartment, to the opportunity to put down roots and build a future they can count on.
Thank you for partnering with us to help make that progress possible. Your generosity opens doors for families like Jacob’s who are ready to move forward.
