BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity reopened its Bend ReStore on Monday, with hours from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. at 224 NE Thurston Ave., Bend.

Until further notice, the limited hours, Monday – Saturday are to ensure the safety and health of both customers and staff. The store has established shopping guidelines for mask requirements, one-directional routes, donation drop off & pick up processes, hourly cleaning procedures, and more.

ReStore donations may be dropped off Monday-Saturday between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. or to schedule a donation pick-up, https://www.onlinedonationpickup.com/bendhabitat/#intro

The Bend ReStore also recently announced their new online shopping platform, https://shoprestorebend.org/ for more shopping efficiency.

This online shopping option is a great one for the DIYer’s or people looking to reuse and recycle, who are looking for just the right amount of tile, paint or flooring. Customers can put these items into their online shopping cart but do not have to pay until they come to inspect the items. Others may be interested in appliances, furniture, windows and more.

The Bend ReStore and Habitat’s fundraising department are fundamental to meeting the organization’s goals of serving families through its homeownership program for local families in need of affordable housing. The organization is relieved to be able to reopen its doors this week. For more information on how to donate to the homeownership program, https://bendredmondhabitat.org/donate/.

As for Habitat home construction, crews completed 2 homes in Redmond with an additional 2 now under construction. Meanwhile one home in Bend was recently completed and also the infrastructure was completed at the NW Cottages site where 10 Net Zero cottages will be built for families.

As for many years, the homes will be built to Earth Advantage Platinum standards but Habitat will be adding active electrical generation with PV panels. Each cottage will be 1200 sq. ft. or less, just as cottage code dictates, and with garages. The site will also have shared community space.
