ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN GIVING TO THE CAMPAIGN
Humanity in Action Campaign Vision
Far too many Central Oregon families cannot afford a home. Our Humanity in Action campaign will help many more families in our region access the dream and the opportunities that go along with homeownership.
Humanity in Action aims to achieve long-term, systemic impact in both the Bend and Redmond Communities by:
-
Completing 40 new affordable homes by 2024
-
Establishing a base for building 20 homes per year after 2024.
Humanity in Action Campaign Need
Many working families in Bend and Redmond cannot afford a home – either to rent or to buy! First responders, health care providers, teachers, small business owners and other working families deserve a path to homeownership.
- The median home price in Bend is $660,000. In Redmond it’s $440,000 (as of March 2023).
- Approximately 50% of Deschutes County residents pay more than 35% of their income for rent; 32% are paying more than half of their income for rental housing (U.S. Census data).
Humanity in Action Campaign Goal: $4 Million
$2 million establishes the Habitat for Humanity Mission Fund – building capacity of the Bend-Redmond Habitat organization, and establishing a new home for an improved ReStore in Redmond.
