Why It Matters

• Bend’s Housing Crisis – With the median home price around $750,000, homeownership is increasingly out of reach for the local workforce. A household would need to earn around $200K to afford a median home in Bend.
• 95% of Central Oregon employers say the housing crisis impacts their ability to hire (Bend Chamber). This home offers a real solution to keep families in the community where they work.
• Meeting local needs – Most affordable homeownership programs cap eligibility at 80% (AMI). That leaves middle-income households with few paths to homeownership. This project serves as a unique model for how we can bridge that gap and create attainable homes for those earning 80-120% AMI.
• Energy-Efficient & Sustainable – Built to Net Zero energy standards, reducing utility costs and ensuring long-term affordability.
• Designed for Everyone – Constructed with Universal Design principles, meaning it’s usable for all people, without the need for adaptation.
